About The Position

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in a Med Surg Neuro setting. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care and advocates for patients to support an exceptional patient experience. HCA Florida JFK Hospital describes providing staffing support, technology and tools for patient monitoring and communication, supplies, and ongoing clinical education to support safe, effective care.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Current State of Florida Registered Nurse license or recognized compact licensure, subject to Florida State licensing requirements.
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications via the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
At least one year of acute-care hospital Med Surg RN experience.

Responsibilities

Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting changes in patient status.
Perform procedures and other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
Document care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient response.
Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
Collaborate with medical providers to provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
Advocate for patients.
