Registered Nurse - Med / Surg
About The Position
Thompson Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Medical/Surgical team. The role involves using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; evaluating the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice; and prescribing, delegating, and coordinating nursing care. The nurse provides patient education and coordinates ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards. The position requires knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to patients’ ages and diagnoses, as well as the ability to work independently, make flexible decisions, and prioritize. Full-time, part-time, and per-diem opportunities are available, with day, evening, and night shifts, some weekends, and 12-hour shifts. Pay ranges from $38.00 to $50.00 per hour, with starting pay based on experience.
Requirements
- NYS license as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Current BLS certification.
- BSN preferred, or desire to complete a BSN.
- Two to five years of medical-surgical nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred.
