About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in the Medical Surgical department at Ascension St. Vincent Winchester in Winchester, Indiana. This is a full-time night-schedule position. The nurse implements and monitors patient care plans, communicates patient condition, coordinates care across disciplines, carries out physician and nursing orders, and works with the healthcare team to assess and coordinate discharge planning.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse credential from the Indiana Board of Nursing, obtained before the hire or job transfer date.
• BLS Provider credential within 30 days of the hire or job transfer date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross credentials are accepted.
• Alternatively, an Instructor specializing in Basic Life Support credential within 30 days of the hire or job transfer date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross credentials are accepted.
• Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or required professional licensure at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
