About The Position

Raleigh General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Critical Care Unit (CCU) on a PRN night schedule, in person. The CCU team includes critical care nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary support staff. The unit provides hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, cardiac drips, emergency response stabilization, and post-intensive procedural care, while supporting patients and families through critical and complex healthcare situations.

The RN performs patient assessments, identifies needs, initiates nursing interventions, provides age- and condition-appropriate care, documents medical necessity in the medical record, and develops and revises interdisciplinary care plans. New graduates are encouraged to apply and will be supported through a one-year residency program.

Requirements

• Current state RN license.
• Associate degree or bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS certifications within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply and will be supported through a one-year residency program.
• ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and thorough patient assessments and identify patient needs.
• Initiate appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment findings.
• Provide age- and condition-appropriate nursing care.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation supporting medical necessity in the medical record.
• Develop, implement, and revise interdisciplinary care plans for each patient.
