About The Position

The Registered Nurse works on both inpatient mental health care units at UVMMC’s Medical Center Main Campus: a 16-bed locked unit serving voluntary and involuntary individuals, and a 12-bed locked unit designed primarily for voluntary individuals requiring acute mental health care. The RN actively participates in treatment plans and rounds, psychiatric assessment and care, and medical/surgical assessment and care. The position is part of a multidisciplinary team comprising MHT/LNAs, RNs, providers, social workers/case managers, and group therapists. RNs are trained to cover the Charge RN role and to precept. On-call work is not required. This is a bargaining union position.

Responsibilities

• Participate in treatment plans and treatment rounds.

• Cover the Charge RN role after training.
• Precept after training.
