About The Position

The Registered Nurse delivers quality nursing care through the utilization of the nursing process and works collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to maintain standards for professional nursing practice. The nurse carries out functions according to hospital policy, the hospital mission, and standards of practice defined by professional and regulatory guidelines. The role directs, coordinates, and delegates activities to foster patient- and family-centered care.

This position is in the Geriatric Psychiatry department and works nights from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with 48 scheduled hours bi-weekly.

Requirements

• Associate degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification.
• Experience working in Long Term Care, Memory or Alzheimer’s Care, or a Geriatric Psychiatry unit.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the physical, psychosocial, and educational needs of patients.
• Plans and implements nursing care according to patient and family needs.
• Makes appropriate interventions based on individual patient needs.
• Evaluates patient responses to nursing interventions.
• Assumes personal responsibility for quality patient care, patient satisfaction, the environment, and professional development.
