About The Position

The Registered Nurse delivers quality nursing care through utilization of the nursing process and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to maintain professional nursing practice standards. The nurse carries out functions according to hospital policy and mission, as well as standards of practice defined by professional and regulatory guidelines. The role directs, coordinates, and delegates activities to foster patient- and family-centered care.

Department: Geriatric Psychiatry. Daily work times are 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the day shift, with 48 scheduled hours bi-weekly.

Requirements

• Associate degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification.
• Experience working in Long Term Care, Memory or Alzheimer’s Care, or a Geriatric Psychiatry unit.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical, psychosocial, and educational needs.
• Plan and implement nursing care according to patient and family needs.
• Make appropriate interventions based on individual patient needs.
• Evaluate patient responses to nursing interventions.
• Assume personal responsibility for quality patient care, patient satisfaction, the environment, and professional development.
