About The Position

Texas Health Plano is hiring a Registered Nurse for its 36-bed Mother/Baby Unit. The role is PRN and scheduled for days, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with six shifts required per six-week schedule. The nurse assesses patients, plans and provides care, evaluates interventions, incorporates age-specific safety and infection-control measures, responds to patients’ and significant others’ information needs, and maintains continuity of care across shifts, hospitals, and out-of-hospital transfers. The unit has an active Unit-Based Council and opportunities for professional growth through NCAP.

Requirements

• Diploma in Nursing or an associate degree from an accredited nursing program.
• One year of experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) before providing independent patient care, maintained quarterly.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) within 90 days.
• CPI (Crisis Intervention Training) within 90 days and maintained annually.
• Registered Nurse (RN) upon hire.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Two years of Mother/Baby experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
