Requirements

  • Active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania
  • If possessing an active temporary practice permit, must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within one (1) year
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions
  • Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements
  • If claiming education, must attach a copy of college transcripts
  • Application must be submitted by the posting closing date

Responsibilities

  • Implement nursing care plans by checking vital signs, administering medications, performing treatments, and reinforcing education to ensure quality service
  • Assist individuals with activities of daily living, hygiene, mobility, and restorative techniques to meet basic physical care needs
  • Provide first aid, CPR, AED intervention, and other urgent care, and refer cases to appropriate clinical professionals
  • Communicate essential information to custody staff, supervisors, and health administrators to maintain safe and steady operations
  • Review medical records, prepare reports, and document information in the electronic health system while maintaining controlled substance logs
  • Sterilize instruments, track inventory, and maintain adequate stock in treatment areas
