About The Position

The Registered Nurse uses critical thinking skills to coordinate and provide safe, quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse also assists with organizing patient care activities as assigned. This is a seasonal, per-diem ICU position on the day shift at St. Mary's Medical Center.

Requirements

• Graduate of a Registered Nurse program.
• Registered Nurse license.
• BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association; inexperienced RNs must obtain it within 90 days.
• NIH Stroke Certification within 60 days of hire or transfer.
• PALS within 90 days of hire or transfer.
• Inexperienced RNs must complete Basic EKG, Critical Care Course, and Trauma Course within 6 months.
• TNCC within 18 months of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical, psychosocial, educational, and growth and developmental needs.
• Develop a written plan of care using assessment data.
• Implement the nursing care plan.
• Evaluate patients’ responses to interventions.
• Demonstrate leadership skills.
• Assist in organizing patient care activities.
