About The Position

The Pediatric Operating Room Registered Nurse applies the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, provide patient and family education, and support continuity-of-care planning. The nurse communicates pertinent patient and family information to the healthcare team, collaborates to establish patient goals, and evaluates progress toward effective outcomes. Professional growth is supported through learning activities consistent with Board of Nursing standards. The position is in Vanderbilt Health’s MCJCHV Perioperative organization. The schedule is Monday through Friday, four 10-hour shifts, with call and some weekends. The role requires an active Registered Nurse license, relevant work experience, and graduation from an approved discipline-specific program.

Requirements

Active Registered Nurse licensure.
Relevant work experience; the listed experience level is 1 year.
Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program.

Responsibilities

Collaborate in establishing the plan of care and coordinate and implement care delivery, anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
Analyze comprehensive information about patient care and management to determine nursing diagnoses.
Use the nursing process to evaluate patient progress toward goals and apply appropriate interventions to achieve effective outcomes.
Employ strategies to promote health and maintain a safe and healthy environment.
Provide patient and family education and contribute to continuity-of-care planning.
Communicate pertinent patient and family information to the healthcare team.
Engage in learning activities to further professional growth according to Board of Nursing standards.
