About The Position

The Pediatric Operating Room Registered Nurse applies the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including patient and family education and continuum-of-care planning. The nurse communicates relevant patient and family information to the health care team, collaborates to establish patient goals, and evaluates progress to support effective outcomes. The position also supports professional growth through learning activities in accordance with Board of Nursing standards. The schedule is Monday through Friday, four 10-hour shifts, with call and some weekends. The role is part of Vanderbilt Health’s MCJCHV Perioperative organization. Additional duties may be assigned beyond the general responsibilities described.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program.
At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
Registered Nurse licensure (LIC-Registered Nurse).

Responsibilities

Collaborate in establishing the plan of care, coordinate and implement care delivery, and anticipate patient care needs across the continuum.
Analyze comprehensive information pertinent to patient care and management to determine nursing diagnoses.
Use the nursing process to evaluate patient progress toward goals and apply appropriate interventions to support effective outcomes.
Employ strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
Provide patient and family education and contribute to continuum-of-care planning.
Communicate pertinent patient and family information to the health care team.
Engage in learning activities to further professional growth according to Board of Nursing standards.
