About The Position

ConvenientMD is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver high-quality patient care in an urgent care setting. The role includes triaging patients, assisting with examinations and procedures, administering medications and immunizations, supporting airway and cardiac care, and communicating with patients about follow-up and test results. The RN collaborates with providers and other clinical team members and helps train new clinic team members.

The schedule requires 12-hour shifts. Full-time staff work three shifts per week, including at least four Saturday or Sunday shifts per month. Part-time and per-diem schedules are also described in the posting. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays is required. The role may require travel to other nearby ConvenientMD clinics and to training shifts.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• State-licensed Registered Nurse (RN).
• Prior experience placing and monitoring IVs.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross; CPR, ACLS, and online-only classes are not accepted.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and the schedule requirements applicable to the selected employment arrangement.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability, if needed, to work at a minimum of three other ConvenientMD locations within a one-hour travel distance of the primary clinic.
• Ability to travel for training shifts, which may take place outside the primary clinic within a one-hour commute.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, and experience with or ability to learn Experity and other business systems.
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach; proactive communication; trustworthiness; and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• 1–2 years of patient triage experience in an urgent care or emergency department.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient triage by taking vital signs, documenting medical history, and performing observational examinations to identify immediate healthcare needs.
• Assist with patient examinations by preparing equipment and documentation and supporting providers during testing and procedures.
• Perform blood draws and phlebotomy while following safety protocols.
• Provide airway support, including nebulizer therapy, oral suctioning, airway placement, oxygen therapy, and AMBU bag ventilation.
• Provide cardiac care by applying 12-lead ECGs, performing CPR in emergencies, and using an AED when required.
• Administer immunizations and medications according to the registered nurse scope of practice and applicable protocols.
• Process and call in prescriptions to patients’ requested pharmacies in accordance with provider instructions.
• Make patient follow-up calls, answer care-plan inquiries, explain test results, and discuss medication or therapy changes.
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients throughout their care.
• Coordinate patient care with clinical team members and relay patient information and updates to providers and other healthcare professionals.
• Welcome and support the training of new clinic team members.
