About The Position
Munson Healthcare is hiring registered nurses for its internal traveler team for seasonal assignments lasting 8–10 weeks. Nurses work in supportive, compassionate environments and may serve in nearly every acute-care specialty. The organization emphasizes professional nursing practice, clinical decision-making, quality of work life, and nurses’ roles as clinical experts, mentors, educators, and advocates. Assignments are flexible and seasonal, in northern Michigan.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Michigan.
- Two years of recent and consecutive experience in a specialty area.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification.
- For Critical Care Department positions: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NIH) certification.
- For Emergency Department positions: ACLS, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), NIH certification, and Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC).
- For NICU and Maternity Department positions: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- For Long Term Care, Home Health, and Behavioral Health Department positions: fingerprinting clearance.
- Employees must be vaccinated or have lab-confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella. Employees must also receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in an assigned specialty area.
- Participate in clinical decision-making and contribute to improving the quality of the nursing work environment.
- Serve as a clinical expert, mentor, educator, and health care advocate.
