About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in the Med Surg Renal Department at Texas Health Fort Worth, caring for patients on a 28-bed renal medical-surgical unit. The unit treats kidney transplant patients experiencing complications or rejection, as well as patients with complex acute and chronic renal diagnoses and other comorbidities. Patients may begin hemodialysis in a neighboring unit or require peritoneal dialysis. This is a full-time night position, scheduled 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. for 36 hours per week, with weekend and holiday requirements. The role delivers patient care using the nursing process and incorporates age-specific safety and infection-control measures. Requirements

Associate degree from an accredited nursing program or a nursing diploma.
At least one year of registered nurse experience, or completion of an RN residency program.
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.
BCLS (AHA) certification before providing independent patient care, maintained quarterly.
CPI training within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Two or more years of strong Med/Surg or Renal Transplant RN experience in an acute care setting, including charge and preceptor skills.
