About The Position

Roxbury Treatment Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc., is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care on a designated unit in accordance with the facility’s philosophy and objectives. Nurses may work on the Adolescent, Adult Mental Health, or Substance Use Disorder unit at the 112-bed behavioral health facility in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. The facility provides acute psychiatric, detoxification, and rehabilitation services for adults, as well as inpatient psychiatric care for adolescents ages 13–17.

The role is offered as a full-time position with an 8-hour night schedule from 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The schedule rotates every other weekend and holiday. Part-time work is also available, with some benefits and the sign-on bonus excluded. Overtime and covering other shifts are available to interested employees. The position may qualify for a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 for a two-year commitment.

The Registered Nurse is accountable for assigned nursing care activities during a shift and promotes and enhances professional nursing practice on the unit under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Director of Nursing. The nurse may also assume Charge Nurse responsibilities as required.

Requirements

• Current license to practice nursing in Pennsylvania, or eligibility to receive or renew one.
• Current CPR or BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Prescribe, coordinate, and delegate nursing care.
• Complete nursing assessments and document patient care and progress each shift.
• Facilitate medication administration in accordance with safe medication practices, including patient education.
• Respond to crisis and emergency events, directing staff and ensuring patient safety.
• Attend Treatment Team meetings to contribute to development of patient care plans.
• Oversee and direct mental health technicians in patient care activities.
• Promote and enhance professional nursing practice on the unit under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Director of Nursing.
• Assume Charge Nurse responsibilities as required.
