About The Position

Roxbury Treatment Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc., is a 112-bed behavioral health facility in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. It provides acute psychiatric, detoxification, and rehabilitation services for adults, as well as inpatient psychiatric care for adolescents ages 13–17. The Registered Nurse works on an Adolescent, Adult Mental Health, or Substance Use Disorder unit, providing professional nursing care consistent with the facility’s philosophy and objectives.

This full-time position follows an 8-hour evening shift from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and rotates every other weekend and holiday. Part-time work is also available, with some benefits and the sign-on bonus excluded. The position offers the opportunity to work overtime or cover other shifts if interested, and may qualify for a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 for a two-year commitment.

The RN is accountable for assigned nursing care activities during the shift and promotes professional nursing practice on the unit under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Director of Nursing. The RN may also take on Charge Nurse responsibilities as required.

Requirements

• Current license to practice nursing in Pennsylvania, or eligibility to receive or renew one.
• Current CPR or BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Prescribe, coordinate, and delegate nursing care.
• Complete nursing assessments and document patient care and progress each shift.
• Facilitate medication administration according to safe medication practices, including patient education.
• Respond to crisis and emergency events, direct staff, and ensure patient safety.
• Attend Treatment Team meetings to assist in developing patient care plans.
• Oversee and direct mental health technicians in patient care activities.
• Provide assigned nursing care and promote professional nursing practice on the unit.
• Assume Charge Nurse responsibilities as required.
