About The Position

As a Registered Nurse at Rochester Regional Health, you provide patient-centered nursing care and make a positive difference for patients, their family members, and visitors through courtesy, kindness, respect, and compassion. This role is in the Med/Surg - 2 East department at Newark Wayne Hospital and is scheduled for 36 hours per week on a day shift from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., with rotating weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing (required).
• Current Registered Nurse license from the NYS Office of Professions.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Compassionate, warm, and patient-focused approach.
• Critical-thinking skills and decisive judgment; ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Exceptional documentation skills and professional behavior.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Promote and restore patients’ health by completing the nursing process.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members.
• Perform treatment procedures and provide physical, educational, and emotional support to patients, friends, and families.
• Supervise assigned team members.
• Develop and document individualized care plans tailored to patients’ needs, with support from the interdisciplinary health team as needed.
• Communicate patient health status, treatment plans, and progress effectively.
• Use the electronic health record proficiently, including accurate patient and provider documentation and communication.
• Follow department and system protocols, applicable local, state, and federal regulations, and education requirements.
