About The Position

The Registered Nurse on 2 East - Oncology uses the nursing process to provide high-quality, direct and indirect, patient-centered care. The nurse coordinates care collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team and communicates the patient's clinical condition as appropriate, responding promptly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. The role requires knowledge of growth and development across the life span and the ability to provide age-appropriate care to the patient population served. The nurse supports the nursing profession and professional practice through collegial support and interactions. This position reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
Current licensure in the State of Connecticut.
Basic Cardiac Life Support certification upon hire or obtained within the new employee introductory orientation period, and maintained during employment.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification upon hire or obtained within the new employee introductory orientation period, and maintained during employment.
Effective verbal and written communication in English.
Basic computer skills.
Maintain clinical competency during employment in this role.
