About The Position

ConvenientMD is hiring a Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, patient-focused urgent care setting. The role includes triage, clinical procedures, medication and immunization administration, patient communication and follow-up, and coordination with the clinical team. The nurse also supports training for new clinic team members.

The position requires the ability to work 12-hour shifts. Full-time nurses work three shifts per week, including at least four weekend shifts per month. Part-time nurses work two shifts per week, including at least two weekend shifts per month. Per diem nurses work four shifts per month, ideally one per week. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays is required. The role may require travel to other ConvenientMD locations within one hour of the primary clinic and travel for training shifts within that commute distance.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• State-licensed Registered Nurse (RN).
• Prior experience placing and monitoring IVs.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross; CPR, ACLS, and online-only classes are not accepted.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts; full-time schedule is three shifts per week, part-time is two shifts per week, and per diem is four shifts per month.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability, if needed, to work at a minimum of three other ConvenientMD locations within one hour of the primary clinic.
• Ability to travel for training shifts at locations within one hour of the primary clinic.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, and experience with or ability to learn Experity and other business systems.
• Compassionate, patient-focused, proactive, trustworthy, and collaborative approach to work.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of patient triage experience in an urgent care or emergency department.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient triage, including taking vital signs, documenting medical history, and performing observational examinations to identify immediate healthcare needs.
• Assist with patient examinations by preparing equipment and documentation and supporting providers during tests and procedures.
• Perform blood draws and phlebotomy in accordance with safety protocols.
• Provide airway support, including nebulizer therapy, oral suctioning, placement of oropharyngeal or nasopharyngeal airways, oxygen therapy, and AMBU bag ventilation.
• Provide cardiac care, including applying 12-lead ECGs, performing CPR in emergencies, and using an AED when required.
• Administer immunizations and medications according to the registered nurse scope of practice and established protocols.
• Process and call in prescriptions to patients’ requested pharmacies in accordance with provider instructions.
• Conduct patient follow-up calls, respond to care-plan questions, explain test results, and discuss changes in medication or therapy.
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients so they feel informed and supported.
• Coordinate patient care with the clinical team and communicate patient information and updates to providers and other healthcare professionals.
• Welcome and support the training of new clinic team members.
