About The Position

The Registered Nurse on 9E Medical-Surgical manages care for patients with medical conditions and surgical procedures. The 30-bed adult medical-surgical unit cares for a variety of patients, with a specialty focus on gastrointestinal and genitourinary post-surgical care. The unit provides training in areas including suprapubic catheter insertion and post-bariatric surgery care, and works closely with other disciplines to support patient care and outcomes. It is equipped with updated technology, including a virtual nursing program, and offers continuing education and opportunities for advancement. The nurse assesses patient conditions, administers medications, changes dressings, monitors vital signs, maintains records, and provides support and education to patients and families. The role requires broad medical-care knowledge to serve a diverse patient population. This is a full-time day-shift position at CoxHealth South in Springfield, Missouri, scheduled for 36 hours per week, with work hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program or an NLN-approved program.
Active RN license in the state of Missouri.
Obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
Flexibility and ability to work in a multitasking environment.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Previous nursing experience.
