About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU care to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Registered Nurse provides compassionate care to patients and families during recovery. This is a full-time day position at Select Specialty Hospital - St. Louis North, located inside Christian Northeast Hospital, with a 7 a.m.–7 p.m. schedule. Starting compensation is $40.85 per hour, with a $3.50 weekend shift differential and a $15,000 day-shift sign-on bonus with no commitment or repayment requirement. New graduates receive a structured 10–13-week orientation with a dedicated preceptor. Applicants may apply before obtaining their nursing license but must hold a license by their start date.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.
Valid state RN license required by the start date; applicants may apply before being licensed.
BLS certification required at hire.
Flexibility of scheduling to complete the program requirements.

Responsibilities

In collaboration with the physician and preceptor, assure implementation of the patient assessment plan, evaluation, and follow-up of the plan of care.
Initiate ongoing, systematic assessment of patients’ and families’ physical, emotional, social, educational, and functional needs.
Interpret assessment data and develop nursing care plans, including problem identification, nursing diagnoses and orders, approaches, interventions, short- and long-term goals, and discharge planning.
Participate as a productive member of the interdisciplinary team in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating rehabilitation goals.
Ensure medical-record documentation is complete, factual, accurate, and timely.
