About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides nursing care for a group of assigned patients, matching patients’ needs with the nurse’s competencies, under minimal supervision. The nurse completes established position competencies within the designated introductory period and performs other related duties as assigned. This is a new graduate opportunity in the CVU. The position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Texas State Registered Nurse license.
• Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support certification from ARC or AHA upon hire; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• For adult critical care, telemetry, and interim critical care units: complete AHA ACLS within 60 days of hire or transfer, and before the end of the orientation period.
• For the pediatric ICU: complete AHA PALS within 60 days of hire or transfer, and before the end of the orientation period.
• For the NICU: complete AHA NRP within 60 days of hire or transfer.
• For the NICU Level 2 Nursery: provide proof of prior S.T.A.B.L.E. completion or obtain it within 6 months of hire or transfer; renewal is not required.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Two years of acute care experience.
• Previous clinical nursing experience in med/surg, telemetry, or ICU.

• Complete established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
