About The Position

Under minimal supervision, provides nursing care for a group of patients assigned to the nurse based on matching patients’ needs with the nurse’s competencies. Completes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Possess a current Texas State License for Registered Nurse.
• Hold BLS certification obtained through an approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network.
• For Adult Critical Care, Telemetry, and Interim Critical Care units, obtain ACLS within six months of hire or transfer into the unit.
• For the PICU, obtain PALS within six months of hire or transfer into the unit.
• For the NICU, obtain NRP within six months of hire or transfer into the unit.
• For the NICU–Level 2 Nursery, provide proof of prior S.T.A.B.L.E. completion or obtain it within six months of hire or transfer into the unit; renewal is not required.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Two years of acute-care experience.
• Previous clinical nursing experience in med/surg, telemetry, or ICU.
