About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU care to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Registered Nurse provides compassionate care and collaborates with physicians, a preceptor, and the interdisciplinary team to assess patients, develop and implement plans of care, and evaluate rehabilitation goals. This full-time day position is located at Select Specialty Hospital - St. Louis North, inside Christian Northeast Hospital. The schedule is 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. New graduates participate in a structured 10–13-week orientation with a dedicated preceptor. Applicants may apply before obtaining an RN license but must hold a license by their start date. Starting compensation is $40.85 per hour, with a $3.50 weekend shift differential and a $15,000 day-shift sign-on bonus with no commitment or repayment.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.
Valid state RN license required by the start date; applicants may apply before becoming licensed.
BLS certification required at hire.
Flexibility of scheduling to complete program requirements.

Responsibilities

In collaboration with the physician and preceptor, assure implementation of the assessment plan, evaluation, and follow-up of the patient's plan of care.
Initiate ongoing systematic assessments of patients’ and families’ physical, emotional, social, educational, and functional needs.
Interpret assessment data and develop nursing care plans including problem identification, nursing diagnoses and orders, approaches, interventions, short- and long-term goals, and discharge planning.
Participate as a productive member of the interdisciplinary team in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating rehabilitation goals.
Ensure medical-record documents are complete, factual, accurate, and timely.
