About The Position

Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice. The position is in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit.

Requirements

• Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within one year of hire.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program.
• For new hires after 2012, a Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within the timeframe specified in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
• Previous medical-surgical nursing experience.
• Successful completion of Annual Orthopedic Education Requirements upon hire and annually thereafter, as outlined in the Orthopedic Program(s) Education Plan.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).
• BLS (Basic Life Support/CPR).
• Florida Registered Nurse license.
• Background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse is required for individuals providing care to vulnerable populations.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in a nursing specialty area.
• BSN: Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
