About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Richmond is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU care to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Registered Nurses provide compassionate care and treatment to patients throughout their recovery. The role includes receiving admissions and transfers, assessing patients, interpreting clinical data, documenting care, processing medical orders, responding to rapid response and code events, and educating patients and families. The position is full-time, day schedule, in Richmond, Virginia.

Requirements

Valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license.
BLS certification is required at hire.
ACLS certification is required within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

Receive admissions and/or transfers to the unit.
Perform initial and ongoing systematic patient assessments.
Document care accurately and in a timely manner using appropriate systems.
Interpret assessment and diagnostic data, including laboratory results and telemetry.
Ensure medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately.
Demonstrate competence in rapid response and code events.
Instruct and counsel patients and families.
Perform other duties as assigned.
