About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Hampton Roads is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide inpatient post-ICU care to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The nurse plays a central role in providing compassionate, excellent treatment throughout patients’ recovery. This is a full-time day-schedule position in Newport News, Virginia, with compensation of $40.85–$55 per hour plus shift differentials and a $15,000 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

• Valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS certification required at hire.
• ACLS certification required within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Receive admissions and/or transfers to the unit.
• Conduct initial and ongoing systematic patient assessments.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation using appropriate systems.
• Interpret assessment and diagnostic data, including laboratory results and telemetry.
• Ensure medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately.
• Demonstrate competence in Rapid Response and code events.
• Instruct and counsel patients and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
