About The Position

Join Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Irving as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. The department cares for patients of all ages, acuities, and stages of life. Nurses provide direct patient care and document care for patients presenting with a variety of complaints. Care areas include triage, higher-acuity main sections, and Express Care/fast track for lower-acuity and clinic-type patients. Staff rotate among areas based on experience and training. The patient ratio is 4:1, and the department has 55 beds.

The department is seeking Level III Trauma designation and is a Primary Stroke Center and Primary Chest Pain Center. It has an EMS partnership and Radiology services with CT and ultrasound within the ED. Department features include self-scheduling with voluntary on-call, paid Certified Emergency Nurse fees, trauma training, and ongoing evidence-based practice and process-improvement projects.

The role is at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Irving in Irving, Texas. The posting advertises a $10,000 sign-on bonus. The stated shift is “Night Shift | 7am - 7pm.”

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• At least 1 year of Emergency Department experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), required within 30 days of hire.
• ENPC and TNCC.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to Emergency Department patients of all ages, acuities, and stages of life.
• Document care for patients presenting to the Emergency Department with a variety of complaints.
• Work in triage, higher-acuity main sections, and Express Care/fast track areas according to experience and training.
• Rotate among department areas based on experience and training.
