About The Position

The Registered Nurse applies the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including patient and family education and continuum-of-care planning. The nurse communicates pertinent patient and family information to the health care team, collaborates in establishing patient goals, and evaluates progress to support effective outcomes. The role also supports professional growth through learning activities consistent with Board of Nursing standards. The position is in Obstetrics Newborn Care at Vanderbilt Health. The nurse coordinates and delivers care, anticipates patient needs, assesses and evaluates progress, and promotes health and a safe environment. Additional duties may be assigned. The role requires a registered nurse license, relevant work experience, and graduation from an approved discipline-specific program; the stated experience level is one year.

Responsibilities

Collaborate in establishing the plan of care and coordinate and implement care delivery while anticipating patient needs across the continuum.
Analyze comprehensive information relevant to patient care and management to determine nursing diagnoses.
Continually evaluate patient progress toward goals using the nursing process and apply appropriate interventions to support effective outcomes.
Use strategies that promote health and a safe, healthy environment.
Provide patient and family education and participate in continuum-of-care planning.
Communicate pertinent patient and family information to the health care team.
