About The Position

The Postpartum Nurse educates and assists new mothers with their physical and emotional needs during the postpartum period. The nurse also cares for infants and educates mothers about infant care. The position is in the Women and Newborn department at CoxHealth South in Springfield, Missouri. It is a PRN night-shift role, scheduled from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or an NLN-approved program.
• Active RN license in the state of Missouri.
• Obtain BLS within 90 days.
• Obtain NRP within one year of hire.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective leadership abilities.
• Valuable time management skills.
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility and ability to work in a multitasking environment.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Previous nursing experience.
