About The Position

The Specialty Registered Nurse delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse provides direct care within the scope of practice and guides patient and family teaching, as well as the activities of other nursing personnel, while maintaining standards of care in the Birthplace. The role requires responding quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment and providing a safe environment for patients and visitors. The nurse uses the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriate care for newborns and mothers during the antepartum and postpartum periods.

This is a full-time night-shift position with Central Maine Healthcare. A sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 is available for qualified candidates; eligibility and payout terms apply, with details discussed during the interview process.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintained as current.
• NRP certification within 90 days of hire and maintained as current.
• Basic Fetal Monitoring upon hire, completed within 60 days of hire and maintained as current.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
