About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse (RN) position specializing in Wound Ostomy Continence (WOC) care. The assignment is located in Lawrenceville, GA, and requires the nurse to provide specialized WOC care following established standards for patient assessment, planning, and treatment. The role involves conducting wound assessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans, monitoring healing progress, and adjusting therapies as needed. The nurse will perform and oversee wound care procedures, coordinate ostomy care, and educate patients and families. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and adherence to infection control and safety guidelines are essential. The position is for a 16-week assignment with guaranteed 40 hours per week, working 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, in a hospital setting.

Requirements

  • Active registered nurse license in Georgia
  • Minimum 2 years of recent wound care experience within the WOC specialty
  • AHA BLS certification
  • CWON or CWOCN certification required; WCC, CWS, or CWCN certification also required
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Ability to work 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday, in a hospital setting
  • No local candidates within 50 miles of the assignment

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized wound ostomy continence care (WOC) following established standards for patient assessment, planning, and treatment.
  • Conduct wound assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, monitor healing progress, and adjust therapies as needed.
  • Perform and oversee wound care procedures and therapies, coordinate ostomy care when indicated, and document results in the medical record.
  • Educate patients and families on wound care, ostomy management, infection prevention, and discharge planning.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and quality guidelines.
  • Participate in holiday coverage as required by the assignment.
