About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Telemetry unit at a Short Term Acute Care Hospital in Olathe, Kansas. The assignment is for 13 weeks, starting on 8/31/2026. The role involves monitoring telemetry, interpreting ECG rhythms, administering medications, managing post-procedure care, assessing patient status, developing care plans, documenting in the electronic medical record, and educating patients and families. The nurse will work 12-hour night shifts, three days per week, totaling 36 hours per week. This position requires every other weekend rotation and availability to work one holiday from specified groups. The pay range is $1,993-$2,054 per week.

Requirements

Active Kansas RN license; BLS certification
Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry experience
Experience with TR Bands and cardiac drips (e.g., Heparin, Lasix, Cardizem) and initiation of Tikosyn/Sotalol
Ability to float to all acute care units
Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts; 36 hours per week
Credentialing requirements: CBC, DS, and associated labs to be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance
Holiday rotation: must be available to work one holiday from each group (Thanksgiving/Eve or Day, Christmas/Eve or Day, New Year’s Eve or Day) as unit needs

Responsibilities

Monitor telemetry, interpret ECG rhythms, and respond to arrhythmias per unit protocols
Administer medications and monitor effects, including cardiac drips and initiation of Tikosyn/Sotalol as indicated
Manage post-procedure care, including TR Band usage and vascular-access site assessment
Assess patient status, develop and modify care plans, document in the electronic medical record, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team
Educate patients and families on plan of care, discharge needs, and safety precautions; ensure accurate handoffs during shift change
