About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides nursing care in the Emergency Department, with practice guided by the American Nurses Association’s Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and shaped by experience, role, and the population served. The role includes assessing patients, identifying diagnoses and desired outcomes, planning and implementing care, and evaluating results. The nurse helps patients attain or maintain optimal health through patient-centered care strategies and evaluates their responses to nursing care and treatment.

The position requires professional performance in quality practice, education and competency, professional practice evaluation, collegiality, collaboration, ethics, integration of research and best practices, resource utilization, and leadership.

Requirements

• Fluency in English communication, including reading, writing, and verbal communication.
• Basic organizational skills, including the ability to follow directions in policies or from a supervisor.
• Basic EKG interpretation.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of the legal implications of nursing.
• Appropriate critical intervention skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and identify nursing diagnoses and desired outcomes.
