About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor and Delivery at Texas Health Frisco is responsible for delivering care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process. This includes assessing the patient, planning care, intervening appropriately, evaluating the effectiveness of interventions, and incorporating age-specific safety and infection control measures. The role also involves initiating actions to meet patient and/or significant others' needs for information and maintaining continuity of patient care across shifts, between hospitals, and during transfers. The Labor and Delivery unit averages 120 deliveries per month and focuses on promoting family-centered care and supporting the patient's vision of the Labor & Delivery process. Texas Health Frisco is a 93-bed acute-care hospital specializing in women's services, outpatient surgery, NICU, and emergency medicine, and has earned Magnet® status, Joint Commission certifications, and is a Baby Friendly designated facility.

Requirements

  • Associate degree Nursing required or Nursing Diploma
  • 1 Year Experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program (Required)
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire (Required upon hire)
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly (Required)
  • NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days (Required)
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days (Required)
  • IFM - Intermediate Fetal Monitoring 6 Months (Required upon hire)
  • NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days (Required)
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req

Nice To Haves

  • BSN (Preferred)
  • At least 2- 3 years of labor and delivery experience as a registered nurse (Preferred)

Responsibilities
