About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Telemetry position at Memorial Regional Medical Center delivers nursing care to patients with medical and surgical diagnoses. The Med-Tele unit treats renal patients receiving dialysis, patients with COPD, UTI, and sepsis, and patients with general medical diagnoses who are frequently on cardiac telemetry. It is described as a great entry point into nursing. The nurse assesses patient status, provides care and clinical interventions, develops and carries out patient care plans, and works to improve patient outcomes. The role also includes collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team, collecting vital signs, administering IV medications and other medications safely, documenting and understanding charting, and maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment. The position is scheduled for 36 hours per week on evenings/nights. The employer states that external applicants with at least one year of RN experience may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 for day shift or $15,000 for night shift. Internal Bon Secours Mercy Health associates are not eligible for sign-on bonuses. Bonus eligibility is subject to the stated conditions.
Requirements
- One year of RN experience.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Six months of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- BLS Basic Life Support certification is preferred upon hire; it must be obtained from an approved source before direct patient care. ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support is acceptable in lieu of BLS.
Responsibilities
