Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Telemetry - Memorial Regional Medical Center
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) – Med-Surg position at Memorial Regional Medical Center provides nursing care to patients with medical and surgical diagnoses. The Med-Tele unit cares for patients with renal conditions requiring dialysis, COPD, UTIs, sepsis, and other general medical diagnoses; patients are frequently on cardiac telemetry. The role includes assessing patient status, implementing clinical nursing interventions, developing and carrying out care plans, and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. The nurse collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team and administers medications in accordance with state practice requirements and organizational policies. The position is scheduled for 24 hours per week on days/evenings.
Requirements
- One year of RN experience is required.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
- Six months of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
- BLS Basic Life Support preferred upon hire; certification must be obtained from an approved source before direct patient care. ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support is acceptable in lieu of BLS.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient status using strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Provide care to patients with medical and surgical diagnoses.
- Implement clinical nursing interventions.
- Develop and perform patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
- Collect vital signs, administer IV medications, document care, and assess patient condition.
- Evaluate, update, and revise the plan of care to facilitate planned and expected outcomes.
- Administer medications safely and consistently with state practice requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
