About The Position

Big Bend Regional Medical Center is a community medical provider serving the Big Bend region of Texas with emergency, laboratory, women’s, and surgical services. The Surgical Services Registered Nurse performs duties for surgical patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care and AORN Standards, implementing and evaluating care using the Nursing Process. The nurse functions as a member of the surgical team, linking sterile and non-sterile fields, and organizes and oversees the operating room during procedures. Responsibilities include maintaining surgical records, assisting anesthesia as needed, keeping the patient’s family informed of the patient’s condition, ensuring patient safety and comfort, helping the scrub team maintain the sterile field, and controlling and maintaining equipment and supplies. This is a full-time position with a Monday–Friday day-shift schedule and on-call responsibility. The role offers a $15,000 sign-on bonus with a 24-month commitment.

Requirements

Associate’s degree.
Certified as a registered nurse.
License to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas.
Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
