About The Position

Helen M. Simpson Rehabilitation Hospital, a UPMC and Select Medical partnership, is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) at its location inside UPMC West Shore. This PRN/per diem role pays $50.00 per hour, with shift differentials for nights and weekends, and offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus. The inpatient rehabilitation hospital provides care for individuals facing medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges related to brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. The hospital provides an extensive orientation program and notes that strong performance may lead to potential full-time opportunities. Post-offer employment testing (POETs) must be completed before the employee’s first day of work.

Requirements

• Valid state RN license.
• At least one year of RN experience.
• BLS certification required at hire.

Nice To Haves

• BSN or enrollment in a BSN program.
• Clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive admissions and/or transfers.
• Conduct initial and ongoing systematic patient assessments.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation using EPIC.
• Interpret assessment and diagnostic data, including labs and telemetry.
• Ensure medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately.
• Instruct and counsel patients and families.
