About The Position

Helen M. Simpson Rehabilitation Hospital, a UPMC and Select Medical partnership, is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) at its location inside UPMC West Shore. The hospital provides inpatient rehabilitation for individuals facing brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas, addressing their medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges. This PRN/per-diem position pays $50.00 per hour, with shift differentials for nights and weekends, and includes a $5,000 sign-on bonus. The hospital offers an extensive orientation program and the possibility of future full-time opportunities based on demonstrated skills and dedication. Post-offer employment testing (POETs) must be completed before the employee's first day of work.

Requirements

• Valid State RN license.
• At least one year of RN experience.
• BLS required at hire.

Nice To Haves

• BSN or enrollment in a BSN program.
• Clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive admissions and/or transfers.
• Perform initial and ongoing systematic patient assessments.
• Document patient information accurately and promptly using EPIC.
• Interpret assessment and diagnostic data, including labs and telemetry.
• Ensure medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately.
• Instruct and counsel patients and families.
