About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg Observation provides and coordinates comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. The role uses evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassionate care, and skilled communication to help create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

The RN joins the Med Surg Observation team at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, a Magnet-designated hospital in Barrington, Illinois. The team includes nurses at varied career stages and nursing assistants with diverse skills and perspectives, with a focus on collaboration, mentorship, continuous learning, advancement, patient safety, and teammate well-being. This is a full-time night position; weekends and holidays are required.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
