About The Position

Inova Loudoun Hospital's Labor and Delivery department is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide patient care on a full-time night shift from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The nurse conducts comprehensive assessments, develops individualized plans of care, delivers patient- and family-centered care, advocates for patients, and coordinates resources and services to support patient outcomes and transitions.

Requirements

• BSN from an accredited school of nursing. Nurses with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) must complete a BSN within five years of their start date.
• Registered Nurse license, or eligibility to practice as a Registered Nurse, in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• One year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of recent Labor and Delivery experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships.
• Formulate individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and patient-population trends to achieve best practice.
• Conduct patient care in a patient- and family-centered manner, applying knowledge, skills, and experience to meet needs throughout the continuum of care.
• Advocate for patients' rights from the patient and family perspective, provide counsel, and serve as a resource to resolve issues.
• Access resources from other disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes and coordinate healthcare and alternate services for patient and family transition planning.
