About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in a 10-bed General Pediatrics unit caring for a wide range of pediatric patients and outpatient procedures. Patients needing a higher level of care, cardiac care, or specialty surgeries are transferred to Levine Children’s Hospital. Requirements

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing-approved nursing education program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Active registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where nursing services are provided.
• Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience; the unit description says it welcomes nurses with a minimum of 6 months of RN experience.
• Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills.

• Ability to meet the stated physical requirements, including frequent sitting, standing, walking, lifting, squatting, bending, reaching, and twisting; lifting and supporting 35 pounds; pushing or pulling with 30 pounds of force; and performing a sliding transfer of 150 pounds with a second person present.
• Functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch, with fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures.
• Ability to maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines, perform physical safety interventions and verbal de-escalation if needed, and respond quickly to changes in patient or unit conditions.
• Ability to work with potential exposure to chemicals, hazardous waste, blood, body fluids, and communicable disease, using protective clothing and equipment as necessary.
