About The Position

Provides nursing care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, and other applicable professional and regulatory standards, as well as ECU Health and entity-specific nursing policies, procedures, and standards of care and practice.

Coordinates and provides nursing care by collecting and analyzing assessment data, identifying expected outcomes, and developing a plan of care with the patient and family and interdisciplinary team members. Identifies and implements interventions, evaluates progress toward outcomes, and documents the care process. Care is sensitive to the age-specific and unique needs of patients and families.

Promotes and evaluates the effective functioning of the health care team. Collaborates with team members to meet patient and family needs throughout the episode of care, and delegates tasks and activities as appropriate under the North Carolina Nurse Practice Act. The position is listed at 0.9 FTE.

Requirements

• Current North Carolina Registered Nurse license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with applicable nursing practice acts, professional standards, regulatory requirements, and ECU Health policies and procedures.
