About The Position

The Registered Nurse works on the 36-bed 6 North Ortho-Urology medical-surgical unit at High Point Medical Center, caring for adult patients ages 18 to 100+ with a range of diagnoses. Patient populations include general, urology, and GI surgery; wound care and management; traumatic injuries following falls or car accidents; and inpatient medicine. The team includes RNs, LPNs, and nursing assistants. The RN provides and coordinates comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. The role uses evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassionate communication, and nursing skills while helping create a safe patient environment and a positive patient experience across the continuum of care. The position is full-time, with three 12-hour shifts per week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and a weekend rotation.

Requirements

Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
More than one year of RN experience is required; RNs with less than one year of experience are directed to apply to postings titled “New Graduate RN.”
