About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is seeking a full-time new graduate Registered Nurse (RN) in Des Moines, Iowa, with day and night schedules available. The hospital provides inpatient post-ICU services to critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. RNs provide compassionate patient care, including receiving admissions and transfers, assessing patients, documenting care, interpreting diagnostic information, and supporting patients and their families.

Requirements

• Valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS certification required at hire.
• ACLS certification required within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Receive admissions and/or transfers to the unit.
• Conduct initial and ongoing systematic patient assessments.
• Document care accurately and promptly using appropriate systems.
• Interpret assessment and diagnostic data, including laboratory results and telemetry.
• Ensure medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately.
• Demonstrate competence during Rapid Response and code events.
• Instruct and counsel patients and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
