About The Position

Park Place of Elmhurst is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for the day shift every Friday. The community offers a continuum of care, including assisted living, short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and memory support. The RN provides direct nursing care to residents and coordinates the day-to-day work of Certified Nursing Assistants as part of the care team. The role ensures residents’ needs are met in accordance with professional standards, physician orders, applicable regulations, and residents’ wishes. Compensation is $40.75–$45.90 per hour.

Requirements

Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of Illinois.
CRP certification.

Nice To Haves

BLS certification is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to residents and manage day-to-day activities performed by Certified Nursing Assistants.
Ensure resident needs are met within professional standards of practice and according to physician orders.
Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders, confirming resident identity before each administration.
Assess and monitor care needs, support residents in meeting their goals, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians.
Educate and guide residents and their families on disease processes and management.
Manage and direct CNA staff in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Document care provided and residents’ responses in informative, descriptive nursing notes; for skilled patients, document the reason for skilled nursing care.
Ensure adequate medical supplies are available and report needs to the Director of Nursing and/or Administrator.
Receive nursing report at the beginning of the shift and compile nursing report at the end of the shift.
Report changes in residents’ medical conditions to the appropriate authority.
Ensure care complies with federal and state regulations and residents’ wishes.
Monitor vital signs in accordance with residents’ treatment plans.
