Requirements

  • current state RN license
  • associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school
  • BSN or completion within five years
  • trauma nurse education
  • Minimum of three years of Emergency nursing
  • CEN, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS

Nice To Haves

  • One-year supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate-- Independently evaluates and determines work assignments and evaluates job performance, recognizes performances.
  • Assigns and Directs Work—Covers call-offs, adjusts schedule as needed.
  • Adjusts Grievances-- Meets with employees to listen to and resolve employee issues and grievance.
  • Discipline-- Implements performance improvements including verbal counseling.
  • Exercises Supervisory Authority-- Develops and implements department and/or hospital policy; insures all employees are trained in policy; exercises discretion, independent of policy to insure proper function of department or subdepartment.
  • Supervise staff delivering patient care within Emergency Services.
