Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking Registered Nurses (RNs) for a training opportunity in the Operating Rooms. This role is part of the provincial implementation of minimum Nurse to Patient Ratios (mNPRs), aimed at enhancing nursing practice and quality of care. VCH values caring for everyone, continuous learning, and striving for better results, fostering quality practice and learning environments. This is a specialty training opportunity that requires full-time attendance in a post-basic training education program. Successful completion of this program is required before working in the Department. The training program includes funding for 100% of wages, tuition, and books. Candidates accepting this opportunity agree to remain with VCH as a regular status nurse in the specialty area for at least 18 months after completing training. Failure to do so may result in VCH seeking to recover the cost of the program. The hours of work, days off, and work area are subject to change based on operational requirements and the Collective Agreement. All healthcare workers are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections as per Ministry of Health policy. VCH is a world-class innovator in medical care, research, and teaching, serving over one million BC residents. They encourage bold thinking, smart risks, and a proactive approach to achieve the best outcomes for patients and families. VCH is committed to creating healthy lives in healthy communities through passion for care, community connection, and teamwork.
